In January, Santa Monica and Los Angeles faced devastating wildfires that destroyed thousands of homes, leaving countless families displaced. While the fires have since been contained, the recovery process is still ongoing. The American Red Cross, with over 200 workers on the ground, continues to provide critical services, including shelter, food, and emotional support, to those affected by the disaster.
At Roque & Mark, we understand how challenging it can be to rebuild after such a tragic incident, and we are committed to supporting our community as it recovers. Many of our clients were directly impacted by the fires, their lives upturned in the aftermath of this disaster. Through the Red Cross’s tireless efforts, we see firsthand the difference they can make in helping individuals and families recover.
Roque & Mark is proud to support many local organizations. For instance, we donated land for use to Upward Bound House to help in their mission to provide fresh produce and temporary housing to local homeless families. We also support the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Monica so they can offer necessary after-school care and college counseling. Additionally, we support the Santa Monica Boy Scouts Troop 2 Christmas Tree lot and contribute to the Santa Monica Fire Department’s annual Spark of Love toy drive.
Our partnership with the American Red Cross is among the longest-standing, though, as it dates back to 2001, following the September 11th attacks. In light of the recent fires, we are once again reaching out to our community for support. The Red Cross has a long history of providing emergency relief, and they are working tirelessly to assist families in need. We invite you to join us in making a donation, no matter how small, to support their efforts and help fire victims recover.
“In times of crisis, community support is everything,” says Zina Markevicius, Vice President of Roque & Mark. “We’re proud to stand with the Red Cross and help our neighbors recover, one step at a time.”
