Roque & Mark first began working with UBH six years ago, when we donated land for use for the creation of an urban farm. Located on Yale Street, just a few blocks over from Roque & Mark’s offices, the farm continues to thrive years later, providing fresh herbs and vegetables for UBH’s homeless pantry. Recently highlighted in Upward Bound House’s annual report, our ongoing partnership with the charity has made a positive difference in the lives of families in the community. The importance of their work cannot be overstated.

Upward Bound House was founded in 1991 with the goal of helping families with children who are unhoused in Los Angeles and Santa Monica. They provide housing, supportive services, and advocacy so that families can access resources that help them transition into homes and remain there. Their charitable work has resulted in thousands of families finding permanent housing. These families pay nothing and have access to food, financial counseling, career support, a safe place to stay, and more. Events like the Home Run for Kids are a large factor in Upward Bound House’s ability to provide all of these necessary services.

This event is one of many that UBH organizes to fund their important work. So far this year, they have raised $28,000 of their $100,000 goal for the event. To learn more or donate visit their website: upwardboundhouse.org.
